Muscat Finance bags Business Today Best Finance Company award

MUSCAT -- The BusinessToday Best Banks and Finance Companies Survey, conducted recently by Ernst & Young, has selected Muscat Finance as the No 1 finance company of 2009. Mohana Prabhakar, Chief Executive, Apex Press and Publishing, recently presented the award to Ajit Engineer, Chief Executive, Muscat Finance.
The BusinessToday survey rates all the seven listed banks and six finance companies on various parameters. From its No 5 position in the 2008 survey, Muscat Finance reclaimed the No 1 spot after a gap of four years.
The company's main strength was its solid showing on most major parameters. Muscat Finance topped the charts on return on equity, return on capital, operating efficiency, growth in gross loans and interest spread, while it came second on earnings per share and net profit per employee.
